A native plant of South Africa, Rooibos is a mountain loving shrub. When the leaves are sun-dried, they turn a reddish brown colour, which gives the tea its name. It has a high antioxidant content, is high in vitamin C and mineral salts. In South Africa, the herb is used a lot in creams for skin conditions like eczema. Or, they make the tea and add it to a bath. Rooibos gives our Red Chai tea a really nice flavor and it is caffeine free. (An antioxidant is a molecule that inhibits the oxidation of other molecules. Oxidation is a chemical reaction that can produce free radicals, (free-radicals are rubbish that antioxidants will clean up - like a vacuum cleaner - and stop them from causing damage to our cells.) Free radicals are molecules produced when your body breaks down food or is exposed to tobacco smoke and radiation. The vitamins and minerals the body uses to counteract oxidative stress are called antioxidants.) High in anti-oxidants, Rooibos is anti-inflammatory, low in tannins and caffeine-free. It’s a tea enjoyed by people replacing caffeine and ideal for pregnant women. Rooibos tea has been used to bathe the skin when suffering from skin conditions like eczema. There are absolutely no preservatives, colourings or flavourings in these herbal teas and from each packet you will get a minimum of 100 cups of tea. Ingredients: Organic Rooibos

Hemp seeds are rich in fibre, Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids plus lots of essential amino acids. they are also digestive and anti-inflammatory. The Hemp Seeds are not a tea, I am offering Hemp seeds to enrich your diet. If you would like to make a tea, just add the Hemp Seeds to your favourite brew. Note: the seeds don't have cannabinoids but are highly nutritive. There is a lot of confusion regarding marijuana and Hemp, both of which come from the cannabis plant. Let me explain - the hemp plant is the male of the species and marijuana is the female of the species. Hemp does not make you “high” and contains double the amount of cannabinoids, that’s the therapeutic oils compared to marijuana. Hemp seeds have a nutty flavour and are delicious sprinkled on your cereal, salads, added to your cooking - there are many ways to get the nutrient value from these seeds. There are absolutely no preservatives, colorings or flavourings in these herbal teas. From each packet you will get a minimum of 100 cups of tea which equals 15 cents per cup. Yerba Mate is a stimulating tea for increased energy and mental focus. This traditional South American herb is said to offer the “strength of coffee, the health benefits of tea, and the euphoria of chocolate” all in one beverage. It was called “the drink of the gods” because of it’s energy and nutritional benefits.Yerba mate is a traditional South American drink that's gaining worldwide popularity, and not just amongst sports people. Steeped in hot water to make the tea, Yerba mate is traditionally consumed from a container called a gourd and sipped with a metal straw that has a filter at its lower end to strain out the leaf fragments. South American footballers enjoy sharing Yerba Mate from this traditional gourd and it is said to be a sign of friendship and bonding. And that is why the South American football teams make drinking it a ritual. But it’s more than just bonding, Yerba Mate is rich in anti-oxidants (higher than green tea) is anti- inflammatory and is believed to have cholesterol lowering properties. Yerba Mate has less caffeine than coffee but will enhance alertness and reduce fatigue without the jittery side effects of coffee. This tea is also known to be anti-bacterial, anti-parasitic and anti-fungal. At Herbal Teas Australia, we have added Yerba Mate to our ALERT tea. Matcha Green tea is a potent, high-quality green tea that boosts energy, helps you to stay alert but calm and is rich in chlorophyll and minerals. Here's what a customer told us from what she observed in her son. "I have a 24 year-old son who has been drinking Matcha green tea every day for 12 months and it has dramatically evened out his moods and he is more settled. He makes a soup mug of it every day. He works a busy and stressful job and was always very anxious. I have watched him become calmer and better able to cope in his job and in life. It’s the best medicine. I would recommend drinking the Matcha Green tea to any young person, especially if they suffer from anxiety or stress related job." This is how Matcha Green tea is processed. Before harvesting the green leaves, some of the crop is covered so that when deprived of sunlight, the plant will over produce chlorophyll. When the leaves are dried, they are then pulverized to make a powder so when you make a brew, you ingest the whole of the plant, rather than making a tea with the leaves, discarding the leaves and drinking the liquid. There are absolutely no preservatives, colorings or flavourings in these herbal teas and from each packet you will get a minimum of 100 cups of tea.
